This is my story

I grew up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of thirteen. My father was a pastor for fifty years, so much of my youth was spent in the pew. During my college years, however, I drifted away from God and chose my own course. Shortly after college I married and had two children of my own. Life seemed to be going in the right direction until my late twenties when I started experiencing severe panic attacks. These attacks would leave me unable to function and feeling paralyzed. My doctor prescribed medication, but after just a short trial period, I decided that I could not live my life in a drug-induced stupor. After several failed attempts to switch meds, one day I remember picking up my Bible, holding it close to my heart, and declaring out loud, “This Bible is my answer.” I started reading two or three hours daily. I remember the love of Christ that would flow over me as I cried out to God for him to rescue me. He truly was my comforter.

One day I read in the Bible: There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

I John 4:18

I was so overwhelmed. I knew I had read that passage before, however, this particular day, it took on a new meaning. I quoted that verse over and over and I was completely healed of panic attacks. I started praying for others and they were healed. During that time I learned the power of His name, His word, and His blood. The Lord called me into ministry and has continually blessed me as I move out to do His work.

Founded in 2002, we are a movement of Christian women who are impacting our culture through media. Formerly known as Women in Christian Media, our new name of Christian Women in Media Association better describes who we are. Christian women in media have influence and opportunity to impact our culture for Christ…for such a time as this

For Such a Time as This…

Christian Women In Media’s theme is taken from Esther 4:14 as a powerful reminder that every day, and in every situation, we need to be mindful of God’s purpose in our lives. We’re committed to helping women in our industry realize that purpose to its full potential— impacting our homes, workplaces, communities, churches, and nation for Christ. And follow Esther’s example—to recognize God’s hand in our lives and respond. God has placed you where you are “for such a time as this…”

Our Mission Statement
Christian Women in Media Association (CWIMA) is a professional association dedicated to Connecting Women in Purpose and Vision. With a national platform focused on advancing Christian women in media, our members work in the fields of TV, Radio, Internet, Film, Publishing, Music, and Arts and Entertainment. Our organizational framework promotes and provides opportunities for industry networking, professional equipping, and spiritual refreshment.
For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your Father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?-Esther 4:14
